iWitches, Tiki Parties, and The Happening

Well! Let me simply begin by saying that every performer in Cirque Du Soleil is an iWitch. Seriously, no human should have the abilities these people possess, I don't care how much you practice. Tonight Tim McK, Troy and myself had the pleasure of attending Corteo, and true to my preconceptions it blew me away. I had seen Saltimbanco years ago, and... well let's just say these people know how to put on a freaking amazing show. Anyone that's even considering going to see a 'Cirque' production, stop considering and buy the darn tickets. (A brief recommendation, don't sit right at the front, the tix are expensive and you get a better view of the production from half-way back.)

Anyway speaking of funness, Friday night saw the second annual Tiki Party take place at my pad (yes, it's an annual thing ;) ). It went really well, a great crowd of peeps turned up and there will be pictures. We even had sunlight that evening... I know! Oh and no people were harmed during the routine sacrifices.

Finally, if you're considering of going to see 'The Happening', you may also want to think about a molotov cocktail, some tap-shoes and a bottle of vicodin. The molotov is for throwing at the cinema screen, the tap-shoes are for dancing in the fiery hell-storm you subsequently create, and the vicodin is to stop the pain in your head after sitting through more than eleven seconds of the film... and the burns.
Yes, it's that bad. It's worse than seeing Oprah in real life..

... without makeup.

Not only did the plot make very little sense, it was painful because what could have been a good idea (plants developing a compound that kills humans as a defense mechanism for us abusing the planet) was just terribly, horribly executed. Tim even went so far as to re-dub M. Night Shaymalan 'M. Night Shamble-plan'. You know it's got to be bad when Tim renames someone.

Anyway that's all I have this week, something small and multi-faceted to let you know what's going on. I left a gap in between posts to keep you all on the edge of your seats too. (Yes - that's why..)
Peace, love and half-baked cookies to all!

Wow...that bad, eh? I was considering going to see that movie this weekend. Oprah without her makeup...well, it IS supposed to be a horror flick, isn't it? ;)

I think we might know the very same Tim McK--that sense of humour sounds suspiciously familiar!

Why would you see The happening!? Why dear god, why!? :p Actually, I saw speed racer recently (properly shouldn't admit this) and I really enjoyed it. It was fun and so much like a videogame I couldn't wait to get home and play f-zero.

You saw Speed Racer....and liked it? What?! How? It was an epileptic's nightmare of flashing lights tiny pathetic storyline! The fat kid needed to die too. Horribly.

Gods green earth, why?! And most of the movie was the same race setting with the same camera shots and angles. Watchowski Bros, you destroyed you Matrix-related good karma and i want my hour and 20 odd minutes left! I didnt even stay till the end i thought it was that bad, it ruined my last night in England. That being said the Happening was equally a steaming pile as well. I rate Rambo 4 as twice as good as the best bits of both movies combined. Nuf said.

Aw!! Well now I don't know what to do, I've heard so many terrible reviews, and - well one good review... now.
I guess I'll skip it and just say I don't know what you're all talking about. Yes, that seems safe, pretend it doesn't exist. Just like the time that homeless guy was following me and speaking Spanish...

Anyone else see The Happening? (Dale?)
I wanna know so I can send you a care package.

Well Dave and andrew both liked speed racer too, and we had the world's most annoying kid in the theatre... but not sure it'd be good on DVD. I just loved the epiletic look of it on the big screen. It was just a real life cartoon to me (I wasn't expecting much of a storyline).

I saw The Happening AFTER having the "big" twist ruined by this freakin' post... what makes it worse is I KNOW that they can act, I just don't know why anyone in the movie didn't!!!

I did like some of the deaths though... most were just amazingly stupid.

Add in "Don't Mess With The Zohan" with 2 full rows of 10 year olds (!!!!!!) and my weekend was just awesome... I don't need to die, I'm now already dead inside.
