These are a few of my favourite things..

Raindrops on roses, and whiskers on kittens. Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens. Brown paper packages tied up with strings..
Well to be honest, these aren't quite a few of my favoutire things. They're crap things actually..
When thinking of things I love, it's best to do it in song.. So, to the tune of The Sound of Music's 'Favourite Things', here's my rendition:

Hotted up graphics cards and their new drivers,
Internet browsers and web crawling spiders,

A bubble-jet printer that's stocked with new ink.
This is all crap I enjoy, well, I think..

Loads of fast memory and dual-core processors,
a small laser mouse which will work under pressure,

A spindle of cd's and dvd's too,
All useful, these items, but what about you?

Tell me a couple of your favourite things, or, more interestingly, something stupid you enjoy. (Bonus brownie points for writing in song.. It CAN be done!)
My brother has a friend who enjoys tomato sauce on ice-cream.. I'd be curious to see if anyone else can come up with an equally disturbing or amusing interest or pastime.

I got nothin this week.. But how cool is this binary converter!?

Token.

Imagine not only being able to see pictures, but explore them.
Imagine being able to feel, smell, and move things in these pictures, as if they were real..

Jimzip Productions 2005 animated feature.
Figure it out, this October.

This just in..

It's time for an update I think.

So I haven't filled in my blog for a while, I've been a little swamped lately. But not to worry, because I have to get something off my chest.
Firstly, there's this llama that's restricting my breathing.. Humph!
There, it's gone.
Anyway, the most important thing is that Clear, this year's 3D production, is being put on hold.
Yes, Jimzip Productions 2004 animation is going to have to wait until another year. The reason you ask?
It's quite simple really. Because of time constraints, I'm working out that there's just not enough to get it done before it's due. But don't stress! (Because I know how many of you were going to..)
I believe in always having a backup plan, and in this case, it's a backup project.
More news as it comes..

The blog has landed.

Hi everyone!

I decided that as well as my usual blog (www.jimzip.com/blog.html) I would also create this one. To be merged later in the process I believe.
Until then however, I'll post on both regularly.
That's about it then.

Cheers all!

Big Brother and the Artificial Eye.

Today I have a theory.. A theory which may shock and astound many..
Nowhere in today's society is the threat of our species degrading into idiocy more apparent than at 7:00 weeknights on channel 10.
How 'Big Brother' is still on the air, and why, remains a baffling and mystifying enigma for any logical person who questions it.
I just watched my first full episode of it tonight. Why? I don't know. I was at home eating dinner and the television was on I guess. But I've never realised quite how terribly crappy the show actually is.

Yeah, there's a house full of people, and yeah, they're being filmed 24-7.. But why? Are they actually doing anything constructive? No, (well, other than improving their own personal fitness by using the gym equipment all day, highly entertaining stuff there).
The entire show tonight was about the 'housemates' dobbing each other in after the guys played a prank on the girls in the house. What was this prank? Pure genius I tell you. The guys went into the girls toilet and excreted all over their seat.

. . .

I'm totally serious. That was the prank.
If this is television, then it's a sad and sorry day for humanity. Seriously..
On top of the show's over-rated, over-hyped, nauseating and substandard production values, it's also a terrible insult to George Orwell's 1984. 1984 tells the story of an opressed people governed and ruled entirely by a figure known as Big Brother around the time of the second world war..
I wouldn't even mind this that much, but the first rule of insulting is if you're going to insult someone or something, at least do it well..
In the last ten seconds I thought of at least ten things they could do to make that show better, one of which was cancelling it.

But enough of the social commentary, in other, more interesting and important news, German scientists have created the first artificial eye, which you can read about here. Apparently it can see in shades of grey and differentiate between light and dark. The scientists responsible are hopeful that it will have the ability to be implanted in the next few years. Amazing huh?

I'm anxious to see how they're going to manage that. It's no easy feat replacing any body part, but the eye?
No doubt they'll come up with something. They invented the VW right?
